Carolyn and I outside the Fritz Walter Stadium. And Sandra too! Finally, sitting in the shade inside the stadium. Just a sea of red and yellow of the Spanish fans. But if you look really hard into the far corner, you'll see some green shirts. Those are the fans of the Saudi Arabian team. That's all they could fill up, just that one corner. OK, as an engineer, I had to take a photo of the truss system holding up the roof. The Spanish fans are having another great party. The seats really are that steep. But there's not a bad seat in the stadium! More Spanish spirit before the game. Getting ready for the teams to come out onto the field. The Spanish come out first. The stadium is finally filled up. The Spanish and the Saudis. The game's underway. Ninety minutes of soccer left for us during this World Cup. Go Spain! The Spanish team shoots, but the Saudi keeper makes the save. Action at our end of the field. Spain takes a corner kick. The keeper gets the ball. Another beautiful but hot day. Spain won, 1-0. Right after the game though, they ran off the field, which was odd because they had 90% of the fans in the stands. But the Saudis said thanks to the fans. The crowd out of the stadium was worse than going in. We headed straight to the train station to catch a train back to Neustadt. A sea of football fans. That was our last game and now we have to think about going home. Back in Neustadt I decided to try taking some night time photos.
