It's a very steep drop down to the road and river below. Looking upstream. Nice little train tunnel on the other side of the river. Another view of the river and the surrounding landscape. More of the Rhine. OK, so I took too many pictures of the river. Playing around on the rocks. Some of the many vineyards along the Rhine. This is a view of the steep cliff of the Loreley looking back towards St. Goarshausen. An aerial view of the Loreley showing it all: the cliffs, the river, the flat landscape beyond the river, and St. Goarshausen in the background. The Lorely cliff from the top showing the restaurant and hotel. The stairs down from the Loreley. Back down in St. Goarshausen. We had to wait a while for the next cruise ship to take us back up to Boppard. On the ship back to Boppard. Kamp Bornhofen, the town below the castles Sterrenberg and Liebenstein you saw earlier. Boppard has its own car ferry, which we saw when our cruise ship was docking. This is our hotel, seen while we were docking. You can see the door to our room up behind the brick chimney on the 5th floor terrace. This is a close up showing our room and the terrace. Nice room, isn't it? The Hotel Bellevue is very near the marketplace in Boppard. It is a very beautiful city. Carolyn enjoys shopping in the local stores. I think that her basket is full of Coke for me and candy for the both of us. Back with Sandra and Carolyn speaking Italian with the woman at the Italian ice cream shop. The longest night of the year as seen from our hotel on the Rhine. This photo was taken at about 10:30 at night. A close up of the little church in the village of Filsen across the river. The Hotel Bellevue has an indoor pool up on the third floor!
