Finally comes the over-glaze painting. Once a piece of porcelain has been fired with the glaze on it, the over-glaze painters to to work. All Meissen porcelain is hand painted and so no two pieces are ever alike. Another layer (or more!) is fired over the painting so that it won't rub off or chip.
