This Protestant church was modeled after the cathedral in Berlin and was started in 1895. The front of the church. Carolyn taking a photo of Sandra. The church was heavily damaged during World War II. It was reconstructed in 1952. That water looked so good in the heat. Carolyn posing in front of the roses. The Church of Christ (Christuskirche) is a very beautiful church. The main train station of Mainz. We'll be back here first thing in the morning to head off to the airport. Hi Carolyn! The crowd is still celebrating Germany's defeat of Sweden. One last look at the Mainz cathedral as we search for somewhere to have dinner. Sandra is kinda hungry for a pretzel. OK, so I went a bit overboard on photos of the cathedral. The bridge over the Rhine at night. Carolyn calling home one last time. Look, the Hotel Mainzer Hof! The next morning, Sandra's looking a bit sad that it's time to leave Germany. Carolyn posing in front of the three stars. It was a nice enough hotel. But that air conditioning unit made it a five-star hotel as far as I was concerned! In general I took at least two showers a day, if not three. It was the only way to stay cool and clean. A dog and cat food ad at the train station. Just another silly picture showing life in Germany.
