Christiane and Carolyn. From a street in Sachsenhausen looking into downtown Frankfurt. Frankfurt on the Main River, the financial capital of Germany. A view of the oldest part of Frankfurt with the cathedral and the bridge called Eisener Steg. The entrance to the Frankfurt Fan Fest along the river. This is perhaps the world's largest TV screen ... at least the largest that's set up in the middle of a river! Don't worry, the picture we saw was crystal clear. Japan beat Australia 1-0. On the far side of the river fans had bleachers to sit in, but they were facing the sun. On our side people could sit on the ground to watch the show. Between games there was live music, dancing and more on the stage to the right that was broadcast on the giant screen. Fans waiting for the next game to start. This is just some cool looking building on a little island in the river. One final view of downtown Frankfurt. These are the tallest buildings in all of Germany. This is a castle ruins back near Giessen. I used to go running along this road and even ran to the castle a couple times. The castle ruins on the right is called Gleiberg while the ruins on the left is called Vetzberg. The Müllers had a cookout for us. That's my friend Ute between Frau Müller and Christiane, and Herr Müller makes an appearance at the table. Ute and Christiane make a toast. Ute and Carolyn. Frau Müller, me and Ute. Ute, me and Carolyn. The reason Sandra wasn't in any of the pictures is because she was glued to the Italy game on TV. These people are friends of the Müllers and make this wine, which I have purchased in Ionia, Michigan where my mother lives! Small world, isn't it? In the Müller's livingroom to watch a bit of evening soccer with a glass of wine. I lived in this home with the Müllers. A picture of the picture taker. Christiane, Sandra, Carolyn and I smile for the camera.
